THE HONEY
The Lunigiana countryside where you can find beautiful landscapes and grazing animals is the perfect setting for hiving bees. Three types of honey are produced in this area:
"Acacia" honey
"Chestnut" honey and
"Wild Flower" honey.
"Acacia" honey comes from the flowers of the Acacia tree and is harvested in mid May. It has a very delicate flavour with a hint of vanilla. Its colour is clear, more or less the colour of hay.
"Chestnut"honey is harvested at the end of June beginning of July; it has a dark brown colour and a very aromatic aroma, with a bitter sweet taste.
"Wild Flower" honey changes from year to year according to the wild flowers. The aroma is intense and inhebrient with a hint of caramel and liquorice.
Lunigiana’s honey has been the first honey to be granted with the D.O.P. label by the E.U(protected origin). The producing area is spread over 14 Villages.
THE WINE
In addition to a traditional vineyard, in which special attention has been given to recover the original plants, we have planted more than two hectares of modern vineyards. We are convinced that this land has all the necessary potential to assure a high quality wine production. We work on the plants with immense care and attention and we limit the production of the single plant in order to achieve concentrated grapes. We work this material within a modern way to obtain a unique and particular product.
"EXTRAVIRGIN" OLIVE OIL
Our olive land is about two hectares, and is placed over a hill looking South-East at 300 mtrs. high and has an ideal climate. Olive trees are of 3 typical kinds, Frantoio, Leccino and Moraiolo.
Fruits are manually collected between the end of October and the end of November and worked within 24 hours. Selection of Olives, cold milling, and natural sedimentation are the keys for obtaining a very special product.
The flavour is intense and fruity with a hint of herb. The taste is slightly hot and slightly bitter. Final yield about 13% ,acidity 0,2%.
